GANF Schools in Grantham have been celebrating their partnership with a special school in Weingarten, Germany.

This year marks the 10th anniversary since the partnership was formed and last week the Senior Leadership Team from the German Partnership School KBZO was invited to GANF for a special assembly and commemorative tree planting ceremony.

Burkhard Lerch, Kerstin Krekeler, Thomas Sigg and Walther Neugebauer, all from KBZO, joined GANF's weekly assembly.

Pupil achievement awards were handed out and then the whole school welcomed their German visitors in their native language.

Mrs Ellis, Assistant Headteacher of Sandon School, gave a presentation about the partnership, and the SLT from KBZO gave a reading in English about the school journey so far with GANF, across the 10 years.

Mr Ellis, Headteacher of Ambergate Sports College, also gave a speech to the whole school and visitors about how special it is to have the link between the two schools.

Mr Ellis said: "The past 10 years have been fantastic and provided our pupils with so many wonderful experiences. I look forward to the relationship between GANF and KBZO continuing to develop for many years to come!"

The choir from Sandon School sang and signed, 'You've got a friend in me'.

As the assembly closed the KBZO guests, along with school governors, Mrs Bennington and Mrs Freestone, the Eco Committee from Ambergate, and SLT from GANF, headed out to the playground where an apple tree was planted.
