The Reconnecting Grantham Project is looking to make community connections and recruit vital volunteers.

As many of you already know, The National Trust and Woodland Trust are working together on their joint endeavour, the Reconnecting Grantham project. This project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, aims to reconnect communities to Londonthorpe Woods and Bellmount site through the power of history, development of people's wellbeing and nurturing nature and wildlife.

The Reconnecting Grantham project invites individuals who share a passion for nature, heritage, and community to step forward and get involved. By volunteering as Woodland Welcomers, Tower Assistants, or Guided Walk leaders, you can actively contribute to Londonthorpe Woods and Bellmount's development. Join us in creating a future where Londonthorpe Woods and Bellmount sites thrives, and its natural beauty remains for years to come.

Woodland Welcomers will be at the forefront of this cause, greeting visitors with open arms and sharing their knowledge of the woodlands. These volunteers will be the friendly faces bridging the gap between visitors and the natural wonders of Londonthorpe Woods and Bellmount sites, ensuring a warm welcome and an unforgettable experience for all.

Furthermore, Tower Assistants will play a crucial role in preserving the sites rich heritage. With guidance and training, these enthusiastic volunteers will showcase Bellmount Tower, hopefully rekindling a sense of awe and curiosity amongst locals and visitors alike.

By stepping up to these vital roles, they will contribute greatly to the preservation and promotion of the site's cultural identity.

Guided Walk leaders will lead the way in unlocking of Londonthorpe Woods and Bellmount's hidden treasures, adding an educational and informative element to the project. With their expertise and passion, we want these volunteers to take groups on immersive journeys, shedding light on the enticing history and fascinating landscape.

"We are thrilled to have joined forces with the National Trust on this incredible project, made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Londonthorpe Woods and Bellmount our both treasure troves waiting to be rediscovered. Through this collaboration, we aim to unlock its potential and reconnect people with the beauty and value of nature. We invite volunteers from all walks of life to be part of this journey and make a lasting impact for future generations." said Aaron Benson, Community Development Officer on the Reconnecting Grantham Project, of the Woodland Trust.
