Night-time closures of both the A1 northbound and southbound will be in place tomorrow (Thurs) and Friday as work continues on the Grantham Southern Relief Road.

The A1 northbound and southbound between Harlaxton to Little Ponton will be closed from 8pm tomorrow until 6am on Friday and again on Friday from 8pm to 6am on Saturday.

The diversion route is via the A607 at Harlaxton, to A606, to A1 at Stamford.

There is a current, ongoing 50mph speed limit and narrow lanes on the A1 between Harlaxton to Little Ponton.

Despite recent wet weather, work continues apace on the Grantham Southern Relief Road with a new slip road and roundabout construction underway.

The site team is continuing its work beside the A1 in preparation for constructing the new bridged junction connecting the B1174 to the A1.

This month a number of projects will be completed including:

- earthworks and drainage works for the widening east of the A1, ahead of laying the stone sub-base

- beginning construction of slip roads being built east of the A1

- continuing excavation works at the new roundabout west of the A1

- continuing on-site material processing for use across the scheme

- laying road surfacing to the A1's central reservations in preparation of contraflow implementation
