Residents on a Grantham housing estate were shocked this morning to see a 20ft water fountain.

Water was shooting up into the air on Harrowby Lane, between between Alma Park and Chatsworth Ave, which also led to lots of water on the roads.

Neighbours initiatlly suspected a burst water main, but Anglian Water says the fountain was caused by a contractor leaving a hydrant open, which has now been switched off.
