Coronavirus crisis: One dead in Lincolnshire today as national death toll tops 20,000

The number of deaths from people with coronavirus in Lincolnshire increased by one today, bringing the total to 92.

The single fatality comes as the nationwide figure increased by 813 to exceed 20,000, rising to 20,319.

The United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust, which runs hospitals at Grantham, Boston, Lincoln and Louth, said the latest victim was a 97-year-old woman with pre-existing conditions.

Nationally, 148,377 have been tested positive with the virus, according to official government figures, an increase of 4,913 on yesterday.

Lincolnshire saw an increase of 23 cases from 725 to 748.

Leicestershire saw an increase of 19 to 821.

North East Lincolnshire increased from 114 to 123.

North Lincolnshire increased from 257 to 280.

Peterborough increased from 185 to 188.

And Rutland increased from 15 to 18.

The figures are recorded at hospital and do not include those at home or care homes.

The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which runs hospitals at Stamford, Peterborough City and Hinchingbrooke, did not issue any updates today.
