Coronavirus crisis: More cases again in South Kesteven but no more dead

There have been six new cases confirmed across Greater Lincolnshire on Monday, but no deaths.

NHS figures show no new deaths in any of the hospital trust covering Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.

It means the region has now gone four days without any extra deaths.

The breakdown of hospital deaths for the county is:

143 at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust (no change)

4 at Lincolnshire Community Health Service hospitals (no change)

1 at Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust (no change)

118 in Northern Lincolnshire (NLAG) (no change)

Nationally, nine further deaths were reported with the UK death tally rising to 46,210.

In government figures released this afternoon, it was also confirmed there had been four new cases in Lincolnshire, and one each in North and North East Lincolnshire.

Nationally there were an additional 938 cases bringing the total to 305,623.

The number of deaths in each of the regions postcodes outside of hospitals and care homes also remained level at 461 according to the government figures.

The breakdown of cases as the new week starts is:

2,532 in Lincolnshire (up from 2528)

737 in North Lincolnshire (up from 736)

218 in North East Lincolnshire (up from 217)

The 2,532 figure for Lincolnshire equates to a rate of 335.0 per 100,000 cases.

This compares to an England average of 470.9 cases per 100,000, based on its 263,602 total number of cases.

Locally, we see Melton increasing 3 today to 192, or 375.7 cases per 100,000.

Peterborough increased 9 to 1,471, equivalent to 731.7 per 100,000.

South Kesteven is up 3 today to 419, or 295.4 per 100,000.

South Holland remains on 712 or 757.6 per 100,000.

Rutland remains on 100 or 251.9 per 100,000.

The government's dashboard also points out the fastest risers, comparing July 31 with July 24 at local district level.

Melton saw 18 cases last week, compared to 13 the week before. With its weekly rate increasing from 25.4 per 100,000 to 35.2.

Peterborough saw 45 cases last week compared to 38 the week before, with its weekly rate increasing from 18.9 to 22.4.

South Kesteven saw its number of new cases fall from 8 in the week ending July 24 to 5 in the week ending July 31. Its rate thus fell from 5.6 per 100,000 to 3.5.

South Holland saw two fresh cases last week, compared to one the week before, with its rate increasing from 1.1 to 2.1.

Rutland saw no new cases last week, compared with three the week before, giving it a rate of 7.6 before falling to zero.
