Coronavirus crisis: 30 South Kesteven cases today

There were 252 positive cases of COVID-19 and two deaths in Greater Lincolnshire on Thursday

The UK coronavirus dashboard latest figures include 142 new cases in Lincolnshire, 53 in North Lincolnshire and 57 in North East Lincolnshire.

Among the districts South Kesteven reported 30 new cases.

It means means there have been 2,305 cases for the month across Greater Lincolnshire.

NHS figures showed two further deaths in the region with one at a Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals Trust facility registered on October 13 and one at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust registered on October 14.

The government's own death tally, which includes those both in and out of hospitals and those of residents in hospitals outside the county, included the death of a Lincolnshire resident and one from North East Lincolnshire.

Nationally, cases increased by 18,980 to 673,622 while deaths jumped by 137 to 43,293.

Health bosses in Lincolnshire have said there is a "mounting argument" for another short circuit break lockdown to tackle the second coronavirus wave.

More than 80 schools across Greater Lincolnshire are now affected by coronavirus.

Lincolnshire is currently still on the medium (tier 1) level for COVID-19 risk.

4,665 in Lincolnshire (up 142)

1,448 in North Lincolnshire (up 57)

784 in North East Lincolnshire (up 57)

The 4,665 for Lincolnshire is equivalent to 612.8 cases per 100,000 of population.

This compares with an England average of 1017.4 cases per 100,000 of population, based on its 572,667 cases.

Leicester now reports 8383 cases, or 2366.5 per 100,000. This is an increase of 135 today.

This figure gives a rate more than four times that of Lincolnshire and around five times that of South Kesteven. It is more than five times the Rutland rate.

Leicestershire now has 6845 confirmed cases (up 231 today), giving a rate of 969.3 cases per 100,000.

Melton is up 15 to 372 today, with a rate today of 726.4 cases per 100,000.

Peterborough is up 43 to 2178 or 1076.8 cases per 100,000.

Rutland is up 4 today at 239, giving it a rate of 598.6 cases per 100,000.

South Holland is up 4 today at 842, with a rate of 886.1 cases per 100,000.

And South Kesteven is up 30 today at 866, giving it a rate today of 629.1 cases per 100,000.

38 from North East Lincolnshire (up one)

of which 282 hospital deaths (up two) 152 at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust (up one)

5 at Lincolnshire Community Health Service hospitals (no change)

1 at Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust (no change)

124 in Northern Lincolnshire (NLAG) (up one)
