Grantham schools are among more than 50 Lincolnshire schools affected by Coronavirus.

And as concerns about a second wave increase, a list of affected schools grow ever longer.

An update from Lincolnshire County Council says two schools in the Grantham area are now closed because of confirmed cases.

They are Springwell Alternative Academy in Grantham and Bluecoat Meres Primary.

Other Grantham area schools listed by the county council remain open.

They are: Kesteven and Grantham Girls School, Barrowby Primary School, Priory Ruskin Academy, Grantham College, Walton Academy, The King's School,Grantham Preparatory International School, and Denton primary school.

Andy Fox, consultant in public health, said: "As of this morning, Lincolnshire's Health Protection Team is currently working with 57 schools that have had confirmed cases of coronavirus.

"All schools are taking action to limit the potential spread of the virus, with some pupils and staff self-isolating as a precaution where necessary."
