A 50Mw solar farm is being planned for the edge of Grantham.

The site is on land near Cliff Lane, Marston, close to the A1 and Gonerby Lane.

The developer Lightsource BP is now sending leaflets to nearby residents as part of its consultation process.

Its plans are in the early stages, so the company says its design and proposals will evolve as it takes account of community feedback.

A formal planning application to South Kesteven District Council has yet to be made.

On Thursday October 22 as part of its consultation, an online information event and Q&A session will take place.

People are asked to look at the website detailing the project and listen to the presentation, which will be shown at 7.30pm.

The company website commented: "We're committed to remaining open and engaged with the community during this process.

"In light of the unusual circumstances, we're offering anyone who would like to discuss the project the chance to have a one-on-one discussion with our Environmental Planning team, either by phone or via video conferencing."

Details of the Gonerby Moor Project and the consultation can be found here.
