AstraZeneca Covid vaccination walk-in appointments will be available next week at PRSA, Boston, and the Lincolnshire Showground

The county's two Mass Vaccination Centres (MVCs) at PRSA, Boston, and the Lincolnshire Showground will be offering walk-in AstraZeneca covid vaccinations during w/c 21st June.

Anyone aged 40 years or over will be able to attend for a first dose vaccination or a second dose if there is a minimum eight week gap since their first dose

Available on a 'first come, first served' basis, the walk-ins will be using AstraZeneca only and will be available as follows:

PRSA MVC, Boston: Monday 21st – Thursday 24th June, 8am – 7pm

Lincolnshire Showground MVC: Monday 21st – Thursday 24th June, 8am – 7pm

Rebecca Neno, Deputy Chief Nurse, NHS Lincolnshire CCG, said: "The walk-ins are a great opportunity for anyone who might have not taken up the offer to get vaccinated earlier on in the vaccination rollout, or would like to bring their second dose forwards provided they are at eight weeks or more since their first dose.

"Getting vaccinated twice ensures the maximum level of protection against covid, along with continuing to follow the guidance around 'hands, face, space, fresh air', and I would strongly encourage anyone eligible to come forwards and take advantage of the walk-ins.

"If you have received a first dose AstraZeneca vaccine and have not returned for a second dose it is not too late, at no point is it necessary to start the course again. Mild side effects are common with first dose AstraZeneca vaccine but much less common with second doses."

The CCG expects the walk in sessions to be busy so it asks people to be patient if they have to wait a few minutes. There is no requirement to be registered with a GP or to have an NHS number to attend, however, if you do have an NHS number and have it to hand this can speed up the process.

Those aged 39 and under are asked to book an appointment via the national booking service here https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus-vaccine//.

The CCG reports good appointment availability across the county over the coming weeks at its Mass Vaccination Centres at the Lincolnshire Showground and PRSA, Boston, as well as at pharmacies in Lincoln and Boston, and also at the Meres Leisure Centre Local Vaccination Centre in Grantham,

You can find your NHS number online here www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/online-services/find-nhs-number/ and please only attend if you are eligible – click the following link for more information on eligibility https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/coronavirus-vaccine/
