Coronavirus crisis: Grantham's Nobody Inn now doing beer take-aways

The award-winning and popular Nobody Inn in Grantham has started selling take-away beer.

Landlord Eddie Pimlott, who has run the venue for more than 20 years, says he hopes this will bring some much-needed cheer and normality.

Eddie, who lives on the premises in North Street, began his sales last Saturday with a few changes to the pub's procedures to meet government social-distancing and safety guidelines.

People have to pre-book an allocated slot, with orders in before 3pm and pick-up between 4pm and 7pm.

They can only enter at ten-minute intervals and the pub is cleaned after each customer.

"We have to stay safe and use common sense. I do not want everybody piling in or gathering outside the pub."

The name Nobody Inn is quite a misnomer as before the lockdown, it was one of Grantham's busiest and most popular pubs, as people enjoyed its sports, real ales and friendly service.

Grantham area Camra also award the Nobody Inn its Town Pub of the Year accolade for 2020, which added to a long list of other awards.

At present, Eddie has two real ales on, Harvest Pale from Nottingham's Castle Rock brewery, or Kingston Topaz, from Grantham's Newby Wyke brewery.

There is also Corona lager in a cask.

Eddie hopes to have a third real on this Bank Holiday Weekend.

The beer take-aways cost £13 for four pints, plus £5 for the reusable growler.

Eddie asks people who want an order to contact him through messenger on the Nobody Inn Facebook Page.
