A Grantham volunteer group is collected unwanted bikes to help those who need them.

The group, which was founded last year, has been busy working South Kesteven District Council and others to provide support for vulnerable people during the pandemic.

Now, it is also looking for people with a passion for bicycles.

The group's Susan Swinburn has posted on Facebook: "We need people who could volunteer for a couple of hours to help us repair and refurbish bicycles for a Grantham community project.

"Do you have a little time and some knowledge of bike parts and repairing and want to help this great community group get up and running.

"The bikes will be repaired and recycled to cut down on landfill. They will be used to help people lead fit and active lives, help unemployed people to get to work, support children and families on low incomes.

"So if you know how to repair bikes, have a passion for recycling and few hours to spare doing something really rewarding and valuable for our community please get in touch on here by messenger or by e mailing

[email protected]" Earlier today, Susan posted three little wishes. "Wish Number one "If you are having a clear out we have desperate need for pop up gazebo's with or without sides to give the volunteers a little shelter to work under when repairing bikes. "Wish number two "We desperately need a couple of fold up tables that can be used by the volunteers when they are repairing bikes to save them bending all the time. "Wish number three Do you have any spare tool boxes that you could donate to a good local cause? We could do with three to make up tool kits that can be used by the volunteers." She added: "Please message me if you can help us and we can arrange collection in Grantham. "
