A village pub near Grantham has been awarded a "Travellers Choice" badge, the highest accolade by global review platform, TripAdvisor.
It is an honour held only by the top 10% of restaurants worldwide.
The operators at The Green Man, Ropsley near Grantham, received an email from the organisation this week advising them of the award.
Directors, Phil and Leanne Docherty knew the venue had begun to perform well via review websites on a local and regional level over the last few years, as the team had been working hard to ensure every customer, drinker or diner, left wanting to return.
Leanne said: "The team had been focussing really hard delivering what we've been promising for a long time now; a great overall hospitality experience.
"We'd gradually accrued awards for our beer and our food, but it was the overall customer experience we'd been determined to exceed upon.
"This isn't an award delivered by a judging panel; Tripadvisor's behind-the-scenes algorithms mean that it's arguably the most credible system of identifying how great a restaurant is. It compiles reviews from huge numbers of genuine diners who regularly visit and review venues".
The award puts the Green Man in the same category of high achieving venues like Heston Blumenthal's Fat Duck and Sat Bains Restaurant in Nottingham.
Phil commented: "We certainly don't portray ourselves as a fanciful gastro-pub with dishes our customers would struggle to pronounce.
"We keep things simple; our menu ranges from locally sourced, great British pub classics to exotic meats and seafood from around the world.
"Our marrying of drinks with the dishes, alongside simple and genuine hospitality, is what's presumably elevated us to such an accolade. That and the amazing team we've got".
