Raise your glasses to the Grantham area for providing four pub finalists in this year's Great Food Club Awards.

The finalists in the Classic Pub category are the Greese and Fountain at Croxton Kerrial.

There is also the Marquis of Granby in Granby.

There is also the Blue Cow at South Witham.

In the Casual Dining Restaurant category, the

The Brownlow Arms at Hough-on-the-Hill, was also a finalist. Nick Holden, landlord of the Geese and Fountain commented: "Beyond excited to be named a finalist in the 'Classic Pub' category of the Great Food Club for the second year in a row. "It's been a difficult year for obvious reasons, but we're delighted that so many of our customers have voted for us as the food business that has given them joy this year! "Thank you so much to Matt at the Great Food Club, to all our customers and friends who voted for us, and to all our staff and suppliers who help to make the Geese and Fountain what it is. "And congratulations to all the other businesses named as finalists in the various categories. To be valued so much by your customers at a time like this means you are all winners in our book!" The Blue Cow in South Witham commented: "So proud to have been shortlisted for the Great Food Club awards in the category of 'Classic Pub'! Thank you to those who voted for us and continue to support us." Staff at the Brownlow Arms commented they were "So pleased." A spokesman for the awards commented: "During July 2020, our readers and members cast nearly 6,000 votes in response to the following question: Which independent food or drink business has brought you the most joy over the past 12 months? "We chose the finalists after counting and analysing all the votes. Multiple votes from the same IP address were excluded and last year's winners were excluded. That's our policy because it allows us to shine a light on a greater number of exceptional businesses." Now, its team of judges will carefully judge the finalists' products, cooking, service, facilities and ethos before deciding the winner of each category and announcing their winners in October. The finalists are listed here.
