Colsterworth residents have been paying respects to Sir Tom Moore, who died this week aged 100, after testing positive with Covid-19.

The laying of flowers came as South Kesteven District Council flew its flag at half-mast yesterday, as reported by Nub News, along with tributes from council leaders and others.

The flowers were laid on Bourne Road where a bench featuring Captain Sir Tom Moore was fitted last summer on July 8.

This was created and delivered by Grantham-based Roll and Scroll who have gained much recognition for their memorial benches.

Roll and Scroll's Chris Kennedy told Nub News the bench is one of only two of its kind in the country and was installed just before Sir Tom received his knighthood as a mark of respect.

Chris added: "I think there will be more flowers being laid."
