Police have confirmed that one woman has been taken to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham via air ambulance following the A1 crash near Grantham.

She is said to have suffered serious injuries.

Motorists are being advised to continue to avoid the area following the collision which has closed the A1 in both directions near Great Ponton and Easton, and a long diversion is in place.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police confirmed earlier that they were dealing with the RTC, reported at 12.09pm on the A1 Great North Road, Easton, near the Skellington turn off.

The spokesperson added: "The road remains closed."
