Update: man arrested after incident involving schoolgirl in Great Ponton

A man in his 50s has been arrested following a police appeal for witnesses after a schoolgirl was approached by a man in Great Ponton.

The incident happened on Wednesday (26 June) between 8.15am and 8.45am.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said earlier today (Fri): "A young girl, walking to school, was approached by a man near the footbridge (northbound) off Heath Lane, Great Ponton, which caused her to be frightened and upset.

This evening police released an update stating: "A man in his 50's has been arrested in connection with this incident."
