Tourism conference offering business help
By The Editor 1st Oct 2019
Tourism experts from Visit Britain are fronting a high-level regional conference in Grantham later this month to help local businesses develop and increase international trade.
Visitor sites, accommodation providers and anyone offering experiences or excursions are invited to a free Taking England to the World event on Tuesday, 22 October at the Guildhall Arts Centre.
The conference has been organised by InvestSK, South Kesteven District Council's economic growth and regeneration company, working with VisitEngland, and includes state-of-the-art digital marketing guidance from Google Digital Garage.
Developed as part of the Government's £40m Discover England Fund, InvestSK says the conference is a golden opportunity to learn about the international travel trade, develop a targeted marketing plan and build a toolkit to promote a business in overseas markets.
Experts will cover areas including inbound tourism, obstacles to market, opportunities abroad, defining and pricing a product, building relationships, creating engaging web content and how the travel distribution system works.
Andrew Norman, Head of Visitor Economy for InvestSK, says it's a rare chance for anyone working within the tourism sector to benefit from top level expertise: "We're really lucky to be able to offer such a valuable day, completely free of charge, to local businesses and visitor experiences, no matter how small or large.
"I would urge anyone who is interested in increasing their footfall to book up as this is an amazing opportunity to get world class marketing advice."
Taking England to the World is being held on Tuesday, 22 October from 9am to 5pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Spaces are limited and must be pre-booked by Friday, 18 October. Places can be booked by clicking on the red button below.
