St Wulfram's Church in Grantham has created a labyrinth at its north side.

Father Jonnie Parkin says the labyrith can be used for prayer and meditation.

He said on Facebook: "Do explore it if you are going that way for part of your daily exercise."

A further statement, the church has on its Facebook page, said: "At this time when our church buildings are closed, we'd like to invite you to visit the churchyard whilst you're out walking and maybe walk the labyrinth.

"People walk labyrinths for many reasons, to exercise, to reflect, to meditate or to pray. Some use labyrinths to reflect on an experience and to try and find meaning or peace in it.

"Walking into the labyrinth they reflect on their experience - what happened, what went well, what went badly, how they and others felt at the time.

"At the centre of the labyrinth they reflect on how they feel right now, in this moment.

"Walking out they reflect on their hopes and dreams for the future.

"A labyrinth is a bit like a maze, but there are no wrong turns so it is not possible to get lost; this frees you up to follow the path."

The post added: "Our labyrinth has 7 circuits around it before reaching the inner space.

"Walking the path, it will sometimes feel like you are getting closer to the centre, and sometimes like you are getting further away. Trust the path, it will get you there!

"At the centre, pause a while and rest. When you are ready, walk back out of the labyrinth the way you came."

Further details on the St Wulfram's labyrinth can be found on this link to the church website.
