'Hundreds' of people have used a 'community hub' run by South Kesteven District Council to help them through the crisis.

The hub aims to be the first point of contact for communities and individuals needing and offering help, support and information.

Council staff are working seven days a week and with the Lincolnshire Resilience Forum, a statutory body made up of councils and emergency services to deal with emergency planning, to provide help and advice to local people, especially the vulnerable.

SKDC leader Coun Kelham Cooke commented: "I'd like to say thank you to the 15-strong team for all their hard work. They are providing a vital service to our residents, with more than 500 calls answered and more than 100 mails processed."

Coun Cooke also praised South Kesteven for rallying around to help each other and for their clapping for key workers.

"It shows a true community spirit, of which I am very proud."

The Community Hub is open daily from 8am to 7pm on 01476 406177 or 01476 406358 and via email at [email protected]
