Grantham shoppers have reacted with joy at the re-opening of a much-loved clothing store.

Peacocks, which is based in the Isaac Newtown Centre at Units 28-32 has announced the date of when it will re-open.

The store has remained closed since the start of the pandemic, leading to some Grantham residents to fear for its future.

But the store's Sue Howarth has posted on social media that the re-opening will be tomorrow, Saturday August 22.

It's opening times will be 9.30am to 5.30pm.

Sue's post continued: ".We look forward to welcoming all our customers back with added safety precautions for our Customers and Colleagues put in place

See you all soon,

Your Grantham Peacocks Team "

Among the customers, Lisa Thorpe commented: "That's great missed a wander round the shop ."

Christine Powell said: "Very pleased for you. Perhaps now we will stop seeing all the comments about the store closing."

Jackie Kilgallon said: "Thought they were permanently closing !"

Sue Howarth replied: "Rumours. We are definitely opening.

"We have never said we are closing so I don't know why everyone keeps telling us that ."

The re-opening tomorrow (Saturday) comes as part of a phased re-opening of Peacocks outlets across the country by the clothing chain.

It follow's the re-opening last Thursday of Bonmarche in High Street, which as reported by Nub News, also gave a similar message it was here to stay and was not closing.
