The call is out to ensure people are able to vote.
South Kesteven District Council is sending letters and forms to all homes to ensure the register is correct and to identify any residents not registered so they can be encouraged to sign up. Those who have moved house recently are particularly encouraged to check the details in their letter.
With elections taking place in South Kesteven in May 2021, this is an important opportunity for residents to make sure they can take part.
Karen Bradford, Electoral Registration Officer for South Kesteven, said: "It is important that residents look out for the canvass letters and forms that are being sent by post so that we can make sure we have the right details on the electoral register for every address. To make sure you can have your say at elections taking place next year, simply follow the instructions on your letter."
The canvass, which is a legal requirement for the council, is taking place during a challenging public health situation. SKDC is working to ensure public health guidelines, including the continued importance of social distancing, are followed and is appealing for residents to respond online where possible.
The letter to households explains how to update your details but for more information contact the elections team at SKDC on 01476 406080, email [email protected] or visit www.southkesteven.gov.uk/annualcanvass
