Grantham's iconic butchers, Watkins in Westgate, launches its delivery service this week.

The move follows an outpouring of public support for such a service when the popular business floated the idea a month ago.

Hundreds said on the Watkins Facebook page they would use the proposed delivery service, as previously reported by Nub News.

Launching tomorrow (Wednesday), the delivery service will also include neighbouring villages, with a rota (as shown in the pictures).

The company said on Facebook:

"Our first day delivering will be WEDNESDAY 4th NOV.

How will it work?

•ALL orders will be taken over the phone 01476 563622.

•You will be offered a 1 hour delivery slot on your chosen day (unfortunately surrounding villages will be visited once a week, please check our delivery rota).

•We are unable to process same day deliveries.

•We ask for a minimum order of £15 and there will be a £3 delivery charge added to your order.

•Contactless payment will be taken upon delivery.

Please see our product lists for the full range and prices of our food.

We are unable to offer delivery of hot food for now, however we hope to offer this service in the future.

Thank you all for your continued support."
