Old friends and drinking buddies not seen since before lockdown added to the fun of a beer festival in Grantham.

The Lord Harrowby on Dudley Road has been staging it's first ever beer festival where the beer comes out of wooden barrels.

Landlord John Senior says this adds more flavour.

That certainly seemed the case last night when Nub News called in just before nightfall.

As Nub News previously reported , the festival will feature nine different ales, including a strong barley wine exceeding 9 per cent ABV.

It was a fine end to a lovely day, with John saying customers have visited from around the East Midlands and he's enjoyed meeting people so much, he hopes to hold a similar event again.

The beer and the fun will be flowing again from 12 noon today and tomorrow.
