A Grantham town centre church hopes a new entrance will improve access for its congregation.

Alive Church Lincoln, which is based at 72 Castlegate wants to extend its existing building, partly demolish an existing external wall, change the inside to create a bigger access to the main church building.

The planning application to South kesteven District Council said: "Partial demolition is required to provide better access internally into the main church space and to provide better circulation around the internal spaces of the Church. "

"The scale of the extension is modest (approx. 4.5m by 2.0m) and remains secondary to the original building on site and other buildings on the street scene within the conservation area."

The application added that existing landscaping would not change and the proposals would create a visually improved entrance that respects the conservation area.
