A successful Grantham business which relocated last year to premises twice as large now seeks a further extension.

Zarafa Height Solutions Ltd of Hanbury Avenue has applied to South Kesteven District Council to extend the offices and warehouses that were approved just last year.

As Nub News reported, the development was welcomed by councillors.

Now, the company seeks to extend its new building by a further 794M2 for B8 long-term storage usage to an existing industrial building (Class B1a, B2 and B8).

The planning application said: "The former brownfield site has recently been developed by Zarafa Group Ltd to facilitate a industrial building (Class B1a, B2 and B8).

"The building comprises of a warehouse facility, two storey main office, workshop area. Externally the site comprises footpaths, breakout space, car parking, service yard, access road and landscaping.

"The extension works to the existing building will facilitate long-term storage for items used on an infrequent basis only, with no other industrial processes."

The application continued: "All plant, ventilation and air conditioning systems approved by SKDC and installed within the existing development have been sized appropriately to allow for the extension to be constructed without the need for additional services."

The application concluded extending the existing building "will result in a further positive development to the site and local area"

It would also result in a "well designed, high quality building extension that further represents the commitment of Zarafa Group to the Grantham area, supporting local employment and stimulating economic regeneration to the area in accordance with regional and local aspirations.

"This application will be the culmination of several years work alongside South Kesteven District Council Planning, during which time the extended building was

discussed as the long-term development essential to Zarafa Group's growth and commitment to remain in Grantham. "The report also confirms that all design proposals have been developed in accordance with the required design and sustainability polices of South Kesteven District Council."
