A children's and women's clothing store promising something different opened in Grantham today (Sat).

Winnie's Boutique, based in Watergate, is owned by Kelly Bright of Grantham, who says the business was inspired by her 'little girl'.

The 36-year-old mum-of-four said: "I just like spending money. I love buying clothes. I love to dress Winnie."

The boutique, situated in a former cake store, offers custom-made children's wear but Kelly says branded items will be arriving soon. It also stocks a range of ladieswear.

The former housewife, who attended St Hugh's School in Grantham, said: "The premises became available and the site has great potential."

Kelly, who has two sons and two daughters, was today helped out by family members and friends including sister Natasha Bright and friend Laura Hitch.

Kelly continued: "I do believe this is needed. Apart from chainstores like Asda, Grantham has nothing for kids' clothes. We have had plenty of customers already.

"I wanted to bring something different to town, something unique."

Kelly's nan, Kathleen McKue, 74, of Grantham added: "This is a lovely location. The car park is nearby and many people pass by."
