The UK's largest independent builder's merchant MKM Building Supplies has opened its 70th branch in Grantham this week.

The new state-of-the-art branch, in Trent Road, has created 17 jobs.

The 1.88 acre site is designed to be a one-stop shop for both local building trade and retail customers, with an experienced team on-hand to support customer projects.

MKM Grantham will showcase a wide range of building essentials including timber, joinery, roofing, facing bricks and blocks, plasterboard, insulation, electrical and specialist plumbing and heating products.

It also offers a range of services - including brick matching, take off service and extensive outdoor landscaping display - alongside kitchen and bathroom showrooms with free 3D design and consultation services.

A large fleet of delivery vehicles, with free local deliveries, including two 26 tonne cranes for heavy goods lifting.

Branch Director James Truman has a wealth of experience having started in the building industry at the age of 18 and managed his first branch at just 22. He has managed several Midland's builders' merchants prior to launching MKM Grantham.

James said: "The whole team is excited to bring the MKM offer to Grantham and can't wait to get started.

"Our aim is to provide customer service that is second to none and put MKM firmly on the map as the merchant of choice in the area.

"We are keen to talk to both local trade and retail customers to assist them with the best solutions for their construction projects, installations and home improvements."

The opening of the 70th branch is part of MKM's ambitious expansion plans and kicks off the company's 25th anniversary year.
