LotterySK is just weeks away from its first anniversary – and is aiming to have 100 good causes signed up to mark the milestone.

A total of 92 community groups are already registered and are on course to have raised £70,000 between them since the launch.

Coun Kelham Cooke, Acting leader of South Kesteven District Council, hailed LotterySK a 'real success story' for the district and encouraged more groups and organisations to sign up.

Coun Cooke said: "It would be great to celebrate a centenary milestone with 100 groups of hard-working volunteers benefitting from our community lottery.

"I am renewing my plea for everyone to get behind these great causes by buying a LotterySK ticket.

"Buyers can choose the good causes they want to support and could also win up to £25,000."

A LotterySK anniversary tea party is being held at the Jubilee Life Church, in Grantham, on 18 September to celebrate 12 months of the community lottery.

All current good cause partners are being invited to the special event, along with groups that have expressed an interest in signing up.

Each weekly draw offers the chance to win £25,000 with 60p from every £1 ticket sold going to local good causes, twice the amount donated to charity by the National Lottery.

Good causes can join LotterySK free-of-charge and start benefiting from people buying tickets in support of their cause. It is open to all not-for-profit organisations, charities, clubs and school parent teacher associations.

Friends of Sandon and Ambergate, which raises funds for Sandon School and Ambergate Sports College in Grantham, is the district's best performing good cause, set to raise £3,614 this year through ticket sales. The second highest performer, on course to receive £3,458, is Three Counties Dog Rescue, followed by Grantham Canal Society, which will bring in an extra £3,302.

Managing Director of LotterySK operator Gatherwell, Ben Speare, said: "The response to LotterySK has been amazing and it's wonderful to see the number and range of good causes that are benefiting from ticket sales every single week."
