Local Elections 2021: South Kesteven leader adds to Tory joy

The leader of South Kesteven District Council has triumphed in the Lincolnshire County Council elections.

Coun Kelham Cooke, the Conservative Party candidate, has won Stamford East with1227 votes.

The council leader adds to the success of other Conservative party candidates across the district, including that of Lincolnshire County Council leader Martin Hill, who was safely returned in Folkingham Rural.

At the moment, the only seat in South Kesteven the Conservatives have not won, is Deepings West and Rural, which Independent candidate Ashley Baxter took from the Conservatives.

In Stamford East, second was district and town councillor Harrish Bisnauthsing of the Liberal Democrats on 894.

Chris Burke of the Labour Party trailed in third place on 493.
