Local Elections 2021: "I am always available and pride myself in responding straight away whenever I can"

I am pleased to be the Conservative candidate for the Grantham North Division, serving the whole community has been my priority regardless of politics.

I don't just work out of a mobile phone which is switched off at weekends as I am always available and pride myself in responding straight away whenever I can.

I am a retired Police Officer having served in Bedfordshire Police as a Patrol Officer and as a Criminal Intelligence Officer. Prior to my policing

career I served in the Royal Air Force as an Aerial Photographer at the Joint Air Reconnaissance Intelligence Centre at RAF Brampton. I believe

that my experience as a public servant for many years helps me understand the many issues and complaints within the division.

We live in a relatively safe area with a low crime rate in comparison to Luton where I finished my policing career as a Domestic Violence Officer. As you can imagine one of my priorities is Law & Order.

As Vice Chairman of the Lincolnshire Police and Crime Panel I hold the Police Commissioner Marc Jones to account. I welcome the extra Police Officers being recruited and his vision to do all he can to make sure

Lincolnshire has the latest technology to assist the force. I have been a District Councillor since 2007 and served as Chairman of both the County and District Councils. I have also had the privilege of being the Mayor of Grantham in 2009/10. As a member of the Grantham Transport Board, I have been involved in looking into the new Grantham Parking Strategy which should bring a much needed residential parking scheme to the town centre. I have been instrumental in bringing in lower speed limits on the A607 including within the village of Manthorpe. I am currently campaigning to improve parking outside of schools which is an issue for neighbouring residents and the lowering of the speed limit on the A153 at West Willoughby. One of my priorities is the future of services at Grantham Hospital. In particular we need the A&E to stay open 24/7 which is essential for our growing town and surrounding villages. I currently sit on the Health

Scrutiny Committee where I continue to hold ULHT to account ensuring your voice is heard. I have also been attending ULHT board meetings and other healthcare meetings for the past 14 years.

I was the first Councillor since 2009 to be successful in initiating a 'Councillor call for action' to support a local farmer. This call was fully supported by the Overview and Management Scrutiny Committee and Highways Committee.

I am a hard working Councillor and have achieved a lot within the division. I have stood up for the public on many planning issues and got several speed limits reduced and continually help residents with issues

and problems. I have 100% attendance at Council and Committees and always weigh up what is best for the community I represent.
