Fears from local residents that the developer Larkfleet Homes, had cut trees down adjacent to Wensleydale Close, which were subject a Tree Preservation Order, proved to be unfounded last week.

Enquiries revealed that a local resident living on Wensleydale Close, was given permission from the landowner to cut the trees down to enable fencing to be put in place.

Larkfleet Homes ,which gained approval from the Planning Inspector to build up to 480 Homes are yet to start to develop the land.

A year ago Councillor Ray Wootten was informed that work was going to commence in the Autumn of 2019.

Councillor Wootten said: "The initial plan to build homes was subject to fierce opposition by over 900 residents, it is only right that the community is kept informed of any further developments if it comes to a planning committee."

Larkfleet are in the process of submitting amended plans which is believed to relate to the quality of the design but due to the Covid 19 Emergency, it is unclear when this will be.

Once the amended plans are submitted a full reconsultation will take place before it is taken to the SKDC Planning Committee.
