Fans have reacted with joy to the return of a popular Grantham wine bar and restaurant.

Customers were devastated last month when the Eden Wine Bar in Market Place announced it was to close.

As reported previously by Nub News, former owners Chris and Theresa Duggan blamed difficult trading conditions caused by the pandemic for the closure and thanked customers for their support over the years.

Earlier this week, the Facebook page of the Eden announced that the venue would re-open on Wednesday September 10 under new ownership.

The statement said: "EXCITING NEWS

"We are happy to announce that The Eden Wine bar will be opening the doors soon.

"New Owners .. New Start..

"🻠Let's start fresh with a twist.."

The new owners further commented: "Please let us know your thoughts.. what would you like to change and add to the bar, menu, service or anything else. We would like to hear from you ðŸ™

"Looking forward to welcome you all

"New owners x"

Nub News sought comment from the as yet unnamed new owners, but customers have welcomed the impending re-opening.

Vivienne Nelson said: "Good luck with your new venture. You have some huge shoes to fill. Eden was the best eatery in town ðŸ'. See you very soon x"

Carol Gasson said: "Great news. Looking forward to having my pre curry drinks with my good friends."

And Jane Taylor Robinson commented: "Oh wow ! Such excellent news ,was so sad to hear it had to close but definitely support the potential new owners ."
