A popular Grantham restaurant has announced it is to re-open around the end of the month.

The move follows months of speculation about its future and growing concern from its fans.

Now, the Siam Garden on London Road has announced it's will re-open around the end of the month, though as yet, there is no exact opening date.

It has been closed since March due to the pandemic, but could have re-opened in July when lockdown regulations eased, allowing restaurants to re-open for table service. Unlike other restaurants, it also did not continue its take-away service.

A statement posted on the restaurant's facebook page said: "Dear our beloved customers,

First of all, we would like to thank our customers for all of the kind words and support through messages and phone calls which we have been receiving since the lockdown. "We are happy to inform you that we plan to re-opening the restaurant around the end of September. "For more Information of the exact re-opening date will be posted on our Facebook page. "Finally our doors will be opened welcoming all of our customers again so soon. Thank you for being patient, we are so excited to see you all. "Regards, "Siam Garden.ðŸ™ðŸ™" However, the restaurant, famous for its buffet, says unfortunately under the current government current rules, it will be unable to provide a buffet. The news has been widely welcomed and shared on social media. Michele Wilkinson said: "So pleased to hear you will be reopening. My favourite place to eat in Grantham. Lovely food and such friendly and helpful staff." Nick Kightly said: "Can't wait. Good luck with the re-opening and we will see you as soon as we can." Jacqui Hoyland said: "That is brilliant news, I can't wait to see you all and enjoy a fabulous meal."
