Up to 22 jobs are promised from an industrial start-ups project at a Grantham business park.

Richard Booker of Creative Products Ltd, Grantham, has applied to South Kesteven District Council to build eight 'starter units' at 1 Ruston Road on the Alma Park Industrial Estate.

The 3,279m2 site presently contains two industrial buildings, a former workshop and storage building, which would be demolished.

The replacement buildings at 1008m2 would be slightly smaller than the 1100m2 buildings that would be replaced.

The application said: "The development will be speculative and it is expected that the tenants of the units will be a mixture of small businesses looking for short-term flexibility, or a long-term, small scale operation. The design of the building will allow for flexibility through a range of unit sizes."

It concluded that the units were in keeping with Ruston Road and they had the potential of hosting up to eight businesses and increasing employment.

SKDC will determine the application at a later date.
