Organisers of the spectacular Grantham Gravity Fields Festival are inviting members of the public to put forward ideas to help make the 2020 programme a truly community-inspired event.

The festival, organised by South Kesteven District Council, takes place every two years in and around Grantham and celebrates the legacy of Sir Isaac Newton, who was born and brought up at Woolsthorpe and educated at the town's King's School.

In 2018, the five-day festival of science, arts, heritage, music and drama attracted record audiences of around 83,000 people.

Members of the public are being invited share their suggestions to shape the 2020 event at a drop-in meeting on Monday, 19 August, being held at the King's School's Old Hall - a room well-known to Newton and which bears his name scratched into the window-sill.

Among the questions being asked on the day will be:

What themes would you like the festival to include?

Which performers or science speakers would you like to see?

Which venues are important?

How best can businesses and the community get involved?

Anyone planning to attend needs to register for one of the three sessions - from 1pm to 3pm, 3pm to 5pm and 5pm to 7pm - by clicking the red button below.
