Harrowby United have announced the signing of former Premier League striker Marlon Harewood.

The 39-year-old made 137 appearances in the top flight of English football and made 531 senior league appearances in total, scoring 154 goals for 13 clubs over in a career spanning 20 years.

The majority of his appearances and goals came at Nottingham Forest, where he started his career, while he also went on to play for Aston Villa and Newcastle United - where he won a runners-up medal in the 2006 FA Cup Final.

A spokseperson for the United Counties League Division One club said: "It's with great pleasure that Harrowby United FC have secured the permanent signing of former Nottingham Forest, West Ham Utd, Bristol City and Aston Villa forward Marlon Harewood. Marlon goes straight into the squad for Saturday's game."

Outside of football, Harewood runs a Nottingham-based lifestyle car business, AC13 Premier Lifestyle, with customers including England's Harry Kane, John Stones, Kyle Walker and Fabian Delph as well as England cricketer Alex Hales.
