Grantham: Two men charged as police name village 'murder' victim

Two men have been charged following an incident north of Grantham, after which a man later died.
Yesterday, as Nub News reported, Lincolnshire Police upgraded their investigations to a murder inquiry after the victim who was seriously assaulted in Long Bennington had sadly died on Friday night.
The man, who has now been identified, had received serious injuries to the head during the assault, which took place around 5pm at Fairfield Yard.
This afternoon, Lincolnshire Police issued a statement naming the deceased and two men who have been charged in relation to the death and will appear in court tomorrow (Monday).
The statement said: "Two men have been charged in connection with this incident.
"Stuart Gray, 63, of Main Road, Long Bennington was charged last night with manslaughter and possession of an offensive weapon.
"Terrance Hardy, 35, of Main Road, Long Bennington was charged last night with murder.
"The two men have been remanded and are due to appear at Lincoln Magistrates court tomorrow (Monday 16 August).
"We are now in a position to name the man who died as 46-year-old Dean Gray."
The statement continued: "Detective Inspector Andy McWatt would like to once again reiterate his appeal for information."
He said: "We are grateful to those who have come forward with information to support our investigation.
"We would also like to thank the local community for their assistance and cooperation.
"If you feel you might have relevant information, and have not yet spoken to us, we urge you to get in touch."
Police added: "This is a serious and complex investigation and it is important that we have every detail available to help us investigate fully and effectively."
