South Kesteven has recorded 100 cases of Covid-19 today, helping the 7-day case rate almost double in a week.
The 100 positive tests compares with 92 yesterday, 180 over the weekend, also making our 7-day case rate well above the England average.
Reflecting fluctuations, it is the same as a peak a month ago, and among the highest in months.
The 7-day rate is now 374.2 cases per 100,000 of population (as it was on an August 23 peak), which compares with 344.2 yesterday and 314.9 yesterday.
This also compares with 194.8 last Tuesday and 271.6 two weeks ago.
With its fluctuations, South Kesteven now has a higher rate than Lincolnshire's 368.9, and England's 324.7, which are more consistent but have also risen strongly in recent days.
Overall, since the pandemic started, South Kesteven has recorded 13,242 positive tests - about one case for each 11 residents. Again, this is better than the England average, which is about one case for every 9 people.
The figures come amid much testing, currently running around 1 million or 6.8 million over a week nationally.
The government's UK Covid-19 tracker also recorded no deaths in South Kesteven today, but we have recorded six so far this month, compared with ten in August.
Prior to the August and September deaths, South Kesteven reported such fatalities on May 5 and March 25, making it 16 Covid related deaths in over 5 months.
It means since the pandemic started, official government figures record 286 fatalities in South Kesteven within 28 days of a positive test for Covid-19.
The total amounts to 199.7 deaths per 100,000, which is equivalent to one fatality for just over 500 residents.
The England average is one death for just under 500 residents.
Nationally, 34,526 cases were recorded today, making it 244,164 over the past 7 days, an increase of 26,585 (12.2%) over the week before.
Today saw 167 deaths recorded, making it 920 over the week, a drop of 89 or 8.8 per cent over the week before.
On Friday September 24, the latest date figures are available, there were Daily
706 hospital admissions, making it 5,242 over a week, a decrease of 903 or 14.7 % over the week before. Testing stood at 1,010,007 yesterday, or 6,755,850 over the week, a drop of 20,925 of 0.3 per cent over the week before.
