Fraudsters are impersonating police officers.

Grantham Police said tonight: "We have received a number of reports that residents have taken phone calls from a person purporting to be a police officer.

"This person has stated that their bank card has been used fraudulently and that they should provide bank details.

"Please be aware - always verify the identity of the person you are speaking to and do not share personal details."

Their statement added: "If you would like to verify the identify of an officer, you can do this by calling 101. We will never ask you for your card details on the phone."
