Tests at a Grantham school for coronavirus have turned out to be negative, Lincolnshire County Council told Grantham Nub News.

The school, which the council declined to identify, had one suspected case.

Yesterday, it was reported there were ten schools across the county with confirmed or suspected cases since they re-opened last Monday, June 1.

Andy Fox, consultant in public health, said:"There are currently three schools with confirmed cases of coronavirus: Fosse Way Academy, Bishop King Primary School and St Faith's and St Martin's Junior School.

"We would like to reassure people that these all appear to be isolated cases, and there are no indications of an 'outbreak' at any local school. Each school has taken the appropriate action to limit the potential spread of the virus, and parents have been informed.

"We have had contact with a further seven schools seeking advice on a range of matters. In the interests of avoiding any unnecessary anxiety or alarm, we will not be publicly naming schools with unconfirmed cases. However, headteachers will be asked to inform parents where this is appropriate'
