A 'Human Library' is to be launched in Grantham by a mental health group, which is also seeking people to be their 'books'.
The aim is to fight prejudice and the conversations will take place at the Bhive Place2Bee venue in Elmer Street, Grantham.
Place2Bee has posted on Facebook: "You can't judge a book by its cover, but most people do exactly that with humans.
"The Human Library, an event that Bhive Place2bee are organising, is about letting people talk about their personal story."
The first event is due to take place on Wednesday October 20 from 2pm until 4pm.
The post continued: "We are looking for "books" – Humans who want to share their story, this maybe anything from, Living with PDSD, having an eating disorder, defeating addiction and living with Alzheimer's disease, a family carer, even being a 40/50/60/70's child, raised in a city or raised on a farm, or maybe you're a dog breeder. Maybe you have a unusual career any topic that "readers" would like to hear about."
The post added: "The goal is to get beyond assumptions and stereotypes, to "unjudge someone."
People can message Grantham BHive for more details, using the Facebook link here.
As Nub News recently reported, Place2Bee stages regular gatherings for men who have sought support about mental health.
