A range of buildings are proposed on a former airfield north of Grantham as part of a car storage and preparation business.
London-based Cazoo Properties seek to erect the buildings at Roseland Business Park, Long Bennington.
The proposed 'call-off facility' would comprise a vehicle preparation building, office and welfare buildings, storage containers, spray booth building, security gatehouse and associated works.
The development totals 2756m2 on one of the former concrete runways at the former airfield site that have a long-standing lawful use for storage purposes and are in use for vehicle storage.
The planning application to South Kesteven District Council said: "A number of the hangar buildings at the airfield site are also used for mechanical and bodywork repairs in connection with the management of the vehicle fleet.
"The proposed 'call-off facility' which is to be located on the west-east aligned runway area, provides an area for the final preparation of vehicles once they have been sold.
"The call-off facility will provide a range of buildings and infrastructure for the washing, valeting, preparation, fuelling, MOT-testing of vehicles prior to despatch.
"The proposals include for the erection of a low-profile 84m x 24m portal frame building for the preparation of outgoing vehicles, the siting of 2(no.) portable office buildings, 2 (no.) storage containers, a spray booth building, fuel bunkers and a security cabin."
The application continued: "Call-off facilities presently exist at the site in the form of temporary marquee facilities.
"These proposals seek to provide enhanced facilities in connection with the existing and consented site uses.
"The proposed development in this case serves the existing site uses and as such there will be no additional vehicle or trip generation over and above what may be lawfully undertaken in connection with the lawful site uses connected to the proposed development."
It added: "The proposed development represents an appropriate expansion of the existing business operation at the site, and one that accords with relevant development plan and national planning policy.
"The proposed works are set within the overall airfield site, away from the overall boundaries. Those boundaries benefit from substantial perimeter screening, and there is further tree screening within the airfield site itself.
"The proposed development will have no material or harmful visibility from public vantage points. The character of the wider locality will not be impacted by the proposed development."
