A Grantham woman hopes to launch a beauty business from a shed in her parents' back garden.

Mrs Jessica Bruin of 207 Dysart Road has applied for a Lawful Development Certificate to convert a 12 foot long by 8 foot wide by 7 foot high shiplap shed into a beauty studio for herself to work within.

Her application to South Kesteven District Council said: "The base has been built for the shed to then be professionally erected in around 8 weeks. This will be based at the bottom of my parents garden, with their full consent, next to their garage, with space for one car to park in front of the shed.

"I will only be treating one client at a time so this will not effect the roads traffic. The shed will be fully insulated and electricity will professionally be installed. I plan on working around 24 hours a week (dependant on how many clients book in). These hours will be based around starting at 10am and working no later than 7pm. I will have low level pan pipe music playing through out the day when I am working. There will be no additional smells or noise pollution to the residential area."

"Treatments I will be offering are massage, facials, waxing, nails, make up and lashes. I plan on having a small retail shelf within the shed which products will only be sold to the clients that are booked in that day."

Her application concerning the site at 207 Dysart Road added that council planning staff have said her proposal is too small for a planning application, so a lawful development certificate is needed instead.

SKDC will determine the application at a later date.
