A Leicestershire golf club has secured a year-long sponsorship deal with a local housebuilder which is providing new homes near the course.

Bellway East Midlands, which is building a range of houses at Waltham Heights in Walton on the Wolds, has given £3,000 to Melton Mowbray Golf Club in the neighbouring village of Thorpe Arnold.

David Hirst, Marketing Director at Melton Mowbray Golf Club, said: "Sponsorship from local businesses is really important to the club.

"We're therefore really pleased to have formed this new partnership with local housebuilder Bellway, which will help fund the ongoing costs of maintaining our superb course and club for members and visitors.

Bellway is building a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom houses and bungalows at Waltham Heights, which is located off Melton Road in Waltham on the Wolds.

The seven-acre housing development is less than three miles from the golf club, which is set in rolling countryside with views across the Leicestershire Wolds.
