Plans have been approved for a three-storey block of flats south of Grantham Town Centre.

Christopher Townsend Bird has gained planning consent for the scheme at 23 Wharf Road.

The site is presently used for garages, which would be demolished for the scheme.

His application to South Kesteven District Council was for two one-bed and two two-bed flats on the site, north of Elton Street, at the back of 23-24 Wharf Road.

A council report, approving the scheme said the flats offered no parking but parking was available nearby and the development would be close to Grantham town centre and public transport.

The scheme was in a 'sustainable' location and would provide an acceptable standard of amenity for its occupants, it concluded.
