Coronavirus crisis: Five news cases in Lincolnshire

There have been five new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Greater Lincolnshire on Monday, but no new deaths.

Daily figures released by the government showed the number of cases increased from 3,529 to 3,534 – with all five new cases confirmed in Lincolnshire.

No further cases were confirmed in either North East Lincolnshire or North Lincolnshire.

Lincolnshire's total of 2,575 is equivalent to 338.3 cases per 100,000 of people.

This compares with an England average of 477.9 cases based on its total of 269,011 cases.

Leicester reported 38 more cases, giving it a rate of 1476.5 cases per 100,000.

Leicestershire reported 7 more cases (481.6).

Peterborough reported 4 more cases at 1,504 (743.6).

Rutland increased 1 to 102 (255.5).

Among the districts South Holland remained at 715 (752.5).

South Kesteven increased 1 to 430 (301.9).

Melton increased 2 to 197 (384.7)

Today's figures also showed there were no COVID-19 related deaths in or outside hospitals.

This means Lincolnshire hospitals have seen no coronavirus deaths for 12 days.

There have been 61 cases across the Greater Lincolnshire region so far in August.

Nationally, cases rose by 816 to 311,641 while deaths increased by eight to 46,574.
