A long-running saga to convert a village pub into housing may finally be over.

The Ropsley Fox on Grantham Road, Ropsley, has been closed since 2012.

And now, eight years later, it may finally be converted into housing.

Mr Andrew Derry of Ropsley Developments, Newark, has gained planning approval from South Kesteven District Council to change the use from a public house to three homes.

One will be two-bed, one three-bed and one four-bed, totalling 300m2.

There would also be parking for seven cars.

Approving the application, a council report said earlier approval had been given to convert the empty pub into two homes and a community facility.

This latest application would simply change the conversion work.
