Two Grantham schools have joined the growing list of Lincolnshire education establishments with confirmed cases of Covid-19.

In a daily list supplied by Lincolnshire County Council, the school Charles Read Academy at Corby Glen and the St Sebastian Primary School.

The county council said this afternoon that both schools remain open.

Just one of the affected schools in the Grantham area is closed- Springwell Alternative Academy.

Previously, Lincolnshire County Council has listed Bluecoat Meres Academy as closed. But today the council listed the school as open, something confirmed by parents of pupils at the school, who contacted Nub News to say so.

Other Grantham schools on the county council list include the Grantham Preparatory International School, Kesteven and Grantham Girls School, Walton Academy, The King's School and Grantham College,

This afternoon the county council reported it was working with an extra seven schools with current cases than it was yesterday.

Andy Fox, consultant in public health, said: "As of this morning, Lincolnshire's Health Protection Team is currently working with 64 schools that have had confirmed cases of coronavirus.

"All schools are taking action to limit the potential spread of the virus, with some pupils and staff self-isolating as a precaution where necessary."
