A Grantham pub that closed for breaking the 10pm Covid-19 curfew is back open.
The Priory was closed voluntarily by its License holder the Ei Group after a police visit to the premises.
The pub on Dysart Road re-opened on Wednesday under a new manager.
As Nub News reported previously, police visited the Priory at 10.35pm on Friday October 2 and found it was still trading.
Sgt Kimble Enderby, Alcohol Licensing Team Manager for Lincolnshire Police said in a statement issued last week: "The front door was open, the lights were on and customers were sat inside drinking alcohol.
"Staff claimed they weren't aware of the new closing time, despite it being in place for over a week. My team immediately contacted Ei Group, the pub company that controls the licence for this venue.
"After hearing what officers had encountered they made the decision to immediately close the pub and remove the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS)."
A spokesperson for Ei Publican Partnerships said today: "The Priory was closed while we appointed a new Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS). The pub reopened on Wednesday [14 October], operating under COVID-secure measures and welcoming customers old and new."
Earlier this week, the pub also said on Facebook: "ï¸ The Priory is under new management ï¸
"We will be open from 12pm tomorrow (Wednesday 14th October)
"Come down to the Priory and say hello to the new managers Corbie and Wayne and have a drink ðŸ»"
Their comment added: "Please don't forget to wear your mask and everyone has to be out for 10pm "
